Data we collect

When you create an account

• Your account name and email address.
• Your password, which is stored only as a secure one-way hash. We cannot see your password.
• The date you registered and whether your email address has been verified.

When you play

• Your characters and their progress: levels, stats, items, guild membership, rankings and similar game data.
• Technical connection data such as your IP address, which the game server uses to enforce the limit of connections per IP address and to protect the server against abuse and cheating.
• In-game chat messages may be logged to investigate reports of abuse.

When you visit this website

• Standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, which are used to operate and secure the website.
• Cookies, as described below.

How we use your data

• To provide your account and the game, including the player portal features on this website.
• To send you emails that are necessary for your account, such as the email verification and password reset links. We don't send marketing emails.
• To keep the game fair and secure, for example to detect cheating and multi-account abuse.
• To display public rankings. Character names, levels, resets, guilds and, for online players, their current map are shown publicly on the rankings page. Your account name and email address are never shown.

We do not sell your personal data.

Cookies

This website uses cookies, small text files stored by your browser:

• Necessary cookies keep you logged in to the player portal and protect the login forms. The website doesn't work properly without them.
• Advertising cookies are set by Google, as described in the next section.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, you won't be able to log in.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads on this website, which helps pay for the server. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites on the Internet.

• You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings.
• You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
• Learn more about how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for their consent before personalized ads are shown.

Sharing your data

We only share personal data where it is needed to run the service:

• with our hosting and email providers, which process data on our behalf;
• with Google, for the advertising described above;
• when required by law.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account and game data as long as your account exists. Verification and password reset links expire automatically. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and characters, except for data we must keep to prevent abuse, such as records of bans.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under data protection laws such as the GDPR, including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. To make a request, contact us as described below.

Children

This website and the game are not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We protect your data with measures such as storing passwords only as secure hashes and limiting access to our systems. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password for your account and never share it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
