1. Create your account

Register on the registration page. You need a valid email address, because we send a verification link to it, and the same address is used if you ever need to reset your password. Your account works for both the game and this website, so you only have one login to remember.

2. Install the client

Download the game client from the download page and extract it to a folder of your choice. Start the game through the launcher: it checks for updates and downloads new patches automatically, so you are always on the current version. If your antivirus software blocks the launcher, add an exception for the game folder.

3. Choose your class

Most classes are available right away, while Magic Gladiators and Dark Lords unlock once another character on your account reaches the required level. Each class has a very different playstyle; the class guide explains them in detail and gives build advice.

4. Your first levels

• Every level gives you free stat points. Distribute them right away, either with the stat window in the game (press C) or with chat commands like /addstr 10. See the commands guide.
• Stay near your starting town for the first levels, then move on to Noria and Devias, followed by Dungeon and Lost Tower. Atlans, Tarkan and Icarus come later. A map is a good fit when monsters die in a few hits but still give decent experience.
• Buy healing and mana potions from the town merchants and assign them to your quick slots. Running out of potions is the most common reason new characters die.
• Join a party. Hunting together gives bonus experience and makes harder maps safe much earlier.
• Set up the MU Helper once you can afford it. It hunts automatically while you watch, and the /offlevel command lets it continue while you are offline.

5. Class quests and equipment

Your class evolves twice through quests: the second class quest starts around level 150 and the third class quest around level 380. Both unlock new skills and are worth doing as soon as you can. For equipment, look out for excellent items (they glow) and set items, and use Jewels of Bless and Soul to raise the level of your gear.

6. Events

Blood Castle, Devil Square and Chaos Castle start several times a day and are the best regular source of experience and rewards once you can enter them. Invasions bring special monsters with valuable drops to the open maps. The times are listed on the event schedule.

7. Your first reset

Once you reach level 400, you can reset your character on this website. You return to a low level, but gain bonus stat points which make every following level faster. The reset guide explains the requirements and costs, and the player portal guide shows how to do it step by step.
